act 1, scene 6

Lady Macbeth is fully intent on killing King Duncan through the resentful manipulation of her husband, although disguises her sinful intentions behind her welcoming, hostful mannerisms as he arrives at Macbeth’s castle.
Macbeth begins to query the plan to kill Duncan because of his sheer respect towards him as a genuinely, wholesome and kind man who has never shown any sign of hatred or retaliation towards Macbeth or his peers.
As Macbeth expresses his doubtful thoughts to Lady Macbeth, she is infuriated and begins to build up frustration towards her husband.
